How to make iced tea?
- 300 ml of hot water.
- 700 ml cold water.
- 4 or 5 bags of black tea.
- 1 lemon.
- Honey or sugar to your liking.
Making iced tea at home is like making any other tea, the only difference is that it gets cold and a touch of lemon is added. Although if you’re in a bit of a hurry (and want the tea to get cold first) you can follow these steps.
Infuse tea and lemon peel.
We infuse 4 or 5 bags of black tea and two strips of lemon peel in 300 ml of water depending on the temperature and time indicated in the box.
It is important that the lemon strips have no white parts or will end up souring the drink.
Once infused, remove the tea bags and lemon peel.
Add the rest of the cold water and a few slices of lemon.
When you have finished infusing we will have a hot tea concentrate that we will then lower and cool at the same time adding the remaining 700 ml of cold water.
This way we get a liter of tea and we don’t have to wait that long for it to cool down.
Next, cut a few slices of lemon and add them into a jug along with tea and sugar or honey.
Then we store it in the fridge for a couple of hours so it stays cool.
If you’re in a hurry to cool it, you can also add some ice cubes or put the jug in the freezer in advance.
If you’re adding a lot of ice, subtract the equivalent part of cold water to keep it from getting watery.
