The creation of the bubble tea is unclear and at least two different entities claim to be the inventors.

While it has recently begun to become popular in the West, the reality is that pearl tea is not a new invention, at least in the East.

Bubble tea can be made with various types of tea, such as black or jasmine tea.

Sweeten it with sugar, honey, or syrup, and add milk, fruits, and even taro, a species commonly used in Asian dishes.

The best teas for bubble tea are those that have a robust flavor, such as black or jasmine tea, although chai tea also works.

This is because the tea is diluted with milk and ice, so you’ll need a strong flavor to make it last.

Bubble tea emerged in Taiwan in the late 80s, spreading rapidly in Asian countries.

Later, it arrived in Canada and from there to New York’s Chinatown.

Two possible creators claim their origin: the Chun Shui Tang tea house in Taiwan.

Where tea was first prepared with cold milk mixed with fruit, syrup, and tapioca.

The other is the Hanlin tea house, also from Taiwan, which also used white tea, which looks like pearls.

The combinations that can be made with tapioca are endless since it has a very noble flavor that allows it to be mixed with almost any ingredient, in addition to having many factors in its favor such as:

How to make Bubble tea at home.

The original recipe has milk tea, although it can be added, as in this case, condensed milk or additional ingredients such as chocolate to flavor to taste.

  • Ingredients.
  • 1 cup of black tea
  • 1 tablespoon condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 handfuls of tapioca pearls
  • 1 and a half cups of water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • A cup of crushed ice
  • Cook the tapioca pearls together with water and boil them for ten minutes.
  • Let cool and in the meantime prepare the black tea.
  • Make a dense syrup using half a cup of water and half a cup of sugar.
  • Use a glass preferably transparent, add the milk and ice and place the balls. Stir carefully until everything is mixed.
  • This drink is served on the vast majority of occasions in a transparent glass since its bubbly qualities can be observed.
